Healing Reiki Therapy
Explore this gentle path to relaxation, balance, and healing
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that began in Japan and is often described as a way of supporting relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. The word Reiki is commonly understood as referring to universal life force energy, and the practice is based on the idea that this energy can be shared through the hands to help the body and mind settle into a more peaceful state.
During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed while the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body. There is no massage, manipulation, diagnosis, or pressure to believe a certain way. While it is not a religious practice in any way, some people find it to be a very spiritual experience. Many people experience Reiki as deeply calming, grounding, or restorative, and some describe warmth, quiet, or a sense of ease during or after a session.
Reiki is considered a complementary wellness practice, which means it can sit alongside conventional medical care, counseling, bodywork, or other supportive therapies. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, medication, mental health care, or professional diagnosis. Instead, Reiki offers a quiet space for the nervous system to soften, the breath to slow, and the whole personābody, mind, emotions, and spiritāto be met with care.
At its heart, Reiki is simple: a peaceful, respectful practice intended to support relaxation and inner balance. Whether you come to Reiki during a stressful season, while healing, or simply as part of your self-care, the session is an invitation to pause, receive, and reconnect with your own natural sense of well-being.

What to Expect
Balance
Your Reiki session usually begins with a brief conversation. We may talk about what brings you in, what you would like support with, and any preferences you have around touch, comfort, or positioning. You are always welcome to ask questions, and the session can be adjusted so you feel at ease.
Relaxation
You remain fully clothed throughout the session, either lying comfortably on a treatment table or sitting in a chair. I may place my hands lightly on your body or hold them just above it, depending on your comfort level. Reiki does not involve massage, manipulation, pressure, diagnosis, or forcing anything to happen.
Renewal
People experience Reiki in different ways. You might notice warmth, coolness, tingling, a gentle flow of energy, deep relaxation, or simply a quiet sense of stillness. It is also completely normal not to feel much during the session. Reiki is a subtle practice, and there is no ārightā way to experience it.
Clarity
After the session, you may feel peaceful, rested, clear, or simply more grounded. Drinking water, moving slowly, and giving yourself a few quiet moments can help you ease back into the rest of your day.
